I am a basement dwelling, home recording, musician. I like to write songs about poop, politics and philosophy. I record and mix all the music, design the website, design CD artwork and play all the instruments (except for when a friend helps out). I have found that there is a meaninglessness to our daily working lives and all of the required tasks that go along with it. "Lyle Lanigan" is the persona I give to my creative side that survives outside of my structured social life. I also feel that there are a lot of ideas, both political and philosophical, that are widely ignored in music these days. I have always felt compelled to address these ideas in my music, balanced with a corrupt sense of humor.

Let's face it, music and movies suck these days. The dialogue we should be having on humanity gets drowned out by our hedonistic pop culture. All I want is to get that dialogue going.

HISTORY: On June 1st, 2001, I finished my first album, There's Gotta Be Something More.... The next year, I released A New Era. In '03, I completed The World's Forgotten Man. I spent the next 3 years recording cover songs which will never be released. I recorded 60 songs on a 3-disc set called Don't Hog The Covers.
